Elizabeth McCabe brings over 20 years of senior-level executive search expertise to August Leadership, specializing in recruiting C-suite and Board of Directors for venture capital and private equity-backed, high-growth biotech companies. Her extensive track record includes global searches for positions such as Chief Scientific Officers, Chief Medical Officers, Chief Business Officers as well as Vice Presidents in Translational Medicine, Clinical Development, and Medical Affairs for both early-stage and established pharmaceutical and biotech companies, as well as venture capital firms across the US and Europe.
Before joining August Leadership, Elizabeth founded Artis BioMedica, an executive search and board consultancy focused on the life sciences sector. Earlier, Elizabeth served as a Partner at DHR International, a global search firm where she conducted searches for dynamic companies in the biopharma, specialty pharma, and diagnostics sectors. At DHR, she expanded the firm’s relationships with the venture capital community.
Prior to her role in DHR, Elizabeth was the Recruiting Partner for Essex Woodlands Health Ventures; a leading life sciences, focused venture capital firm managing $2.5 billion in assets. In this role, she developed strategic relationships with C-Level executives across all sectors of the healthcare industry, advised portfolio companies on recruiting senior executives, board members and advisors, and spearheaded the expansion of the firm’s investment team during the closing of a $600 million fund. Elizabeth began her career at Heidrick & Struggles as part of its Global Healthcare Practice.
Known for her innovative and creative solutions to clients’ human capital needs, Elizabeth has built a strong network of senior leaders in healthcare companies and renowned thought leaders at top academic research centers across the US and Europe.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Gettysburg College and is fluent in French, having lived and worked in Europe. Elizabeth currently resides in Manhattan with her husband and son.
